Nuance Skin Clinic Develops Teen Skin Care Program

(Athens, Ga.) Nuance Skin Clinic recently hosted a special seminar for boys and girls in their pre-teen and teenage years. Held at the end of July, just prior to the start of school, the "Teen Clinic" focused on proper skin care techniques.

Featuring tips on preventing acne breakouts and eyebrow shaping, the clinic also included a mini-facial, make-up lesson and chair massage. The pre-teens and teens attended both individually and with friends.

According to Cindy German-Day, clinical skincare specialist and owner of Nuance, the teenage years are critical in terms of developing proper skin care habits. "Our clinic offered teens the opportunity to start the new school year feeling confident," she said. "The timing was perfect so that teens could incorporate the skincare techniques they learned at Nuance into their new school routines."

With more than 20 teens participating, "The response was overwhelming," said German-Day. "We had to extend the appointment times into the next week."

In addition to the recent clinic for teens, Nuance also regularly offers a teen education session. Featuring a complete skin analysis followed by an educational and informational discussion on hormonal changes, how the skin is affected, and breaking through the myths of breakouts; the session includes a basic cleansing, exfoliation and extraction, as well as recommendations for proper skin care at home and a brow-shaping lesson. Teens between the age of 12 and 16 are recommended to participate.
