Elaine Gunter Recieves Masters Level Specialization in Gerontology

(Athens, Ga.) Elaine Gunter, founder and owner of Aging Resources, Inc., received her Graduate Certificate of Gerontology, a formal, interdisciplinary program with training specifically in gerontology through the University of Georgia. Gunter's new credentials allow her to provide more specialized care to her clients.
"I am able to supplement my academic and professional experience with gerontological content and methods to advance my practice of geriatric care management," Gunter said.
To receive this masters level certification, Ms. Gunter completed 18 semester hours of graduate level courses, studying the psychology, biology and sociology of aging and gerontological techniques and methodologies. In addition, she completed a research project about geriatric care management. After receiving her degree, Ms. Gunter was inducted into the Kappa chapter of Sigma Phi Omega, the national honor and professional gerontological society, which requires a cumulative GPA of 3.50.
Ms. Gunter is a registered nurse with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia School of Nursing. In addition, she is certified in Case Management, Advanced Certification in Continuity of Care and is a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers. Ms. Gunter has spent more than 28 years in the healthcare profession, including hospital, home health care, physician office practices and insurance case management settings.
